Trailblazer -Wong Kok Siew Fund

The Trailblazer-Wong Kok Siew Fund was set up in memory of the late Mr Wong Kok Siew, former Deputy Chairman and CEO of SembCorp Industries.

Mr Wong's sudden demise in 2005 was a great loss to the SembCorp Group and also to Singapore. In his life-time, Mr Wong gave generously of his time and resources to public service and to many international organisations. He had a heart for developing talent in the arts and also to assisting the less privileged, especially needy children.

The Wong Kok Siew Fund focuses on education and causes benefitting children, including extra-curricular activities. The Fund also plans to extend its support from education to the key areas of research in education, extra-curricular activities, medical research on strokes as well as support and outreach to needy stroke patients.

Contributions to this Fund come from the SembCorp Industries Ltd (SembCorp) Group of companies, their employees as well as members of the public. SembCorp is one of the largest listed companies on the Singapore Exchange and a leading utilities and marine engineering services group in Asia.

Educational Projects

Significant educational projects which the Wong Kok Siew Fund has sponsored include the School Book Assistance Grant (SchoolBAG) programme - to help school children from low-income families with the purchase of books, stationery and uniforms in each new school year.
