Trailblazer Fund - Our Projects

Study Grants for Music Talents

On-going sponsorships include study grants to several young talented musicians who are studying overseas.

Donation to Families of Deceased Coast Guard Officers

During the year 2007, the Foundation made a donation of $600,000 to the Singapore Police Force Welfare Fund for the benefit of the widows and children of two Coast Guard officers who perished in April that year in a boat collision at sea while on duty.

The $600,000 comprised personal contributions from the management and staff of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited with a dollar-for-dollar matching donation from Temasek.

The donation has since been used to purchase endowment and financial plans for the families of the two deceased officers. The Singapore Police Force is assisting to administer the plans.

Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme

The Foundation recently introduced a new undergraduate scholarship scheme for students from ASEAN countries who are studying at local universities. Each scholarship award is a maximum of S$10,000 per year. The scholarship does not carry a bond.

Trailblazer Foundation School Book Assistance Grant Scheme

In Nov 2008, Trailblazer Foundation launched its SchoolBAG Scheme to assist needy students with their essential schooling needs. The Ministry of Education ("MOE") administers the Scheme on behalf of Trailblazer.

The Scheme is currently open to 50 schools selected by the MOE. Each school receives $5,000 in each new school year. The recipient schools use the funds to buy school uniforms, bags, shoes, textbooks, and stationery for eligible students with priority given to students who are on the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme. The SchoolBAG programme is expected to benefit about 1000 needy students.

The allocation per student is as follows:

Primary - $200
Secondary - $250
Junior Colleges, etc - $300
